Map of Aitutaki
Aitutaki is a world-famous atoll in the heart of the Cook Islands. It is quite a shallow lagoon (under 15 feet/4.5 metres in depth over 75% of its area) and is over 20 km wide. It features a border of stunning motu (islets) that are everything you imagine of a South Seas paradise destination. The main island has the same name - Aitutaki - with a main town on its western coastline, and a small airstrip on its northernmost tip.
It is an uncrowded paradise for relaxing Cook Islands honeymoon vacations or for general holidays. It is also a perfect place for a wedding, with crown of fragrant frangipani flowers encircling your head, exotic landscapes, warm climate and friendly welcoming islanders.
Accommodation ranges from budget motels to 5-star luxury resorts. Enjoy a day cruise on the calm waters of the lagoon to snorkel the clear waters and to enjoy a barbecue lunch on a remote motu beach. White sand of course ... Aitutaki is picture-postcard perfect!
